Parents and guardians, please read this entire page as it contains important information:

Q: What age divisions are offered for the 2026 season?

A: We will have tryouts for ages 6U-13U. If we do not have enough participants for a certain age group, we will try and recruit. If we are unable to fill the team, we will not move forward with that particular age group.

**For clarity whatever age your player is on July 1st, 2025 is the age group they will play in.**

Q: When does practice start and how many hours do the players practice?

A: The first day of practice is April 12 th . A practice schedule with specific dates and locations will be handed out at tryouts. Our typical practice schedule is Sundays 3-5 and Wednesday 6-8. We will throw in a few Saturday morning practices in place of Sunday occasionally. Each practice will last roughly 2 hours.

Q: Where are football practices held?

A: Practices are held at different locations local to the Tri-Cities. They will be listed on the practices schedule presented at tryouts.

Q: What is the last day to register for the 2026 season? Will there be a make-up tryout?

A: The last day to register for the 2026 season is March 29th. Yes, there will be opportunities to come tryout if you cannot make the March 29th date. Please reach out to us ahead of time if that is your situation.

Q: How many tournaments will be played during the 2026 season?

A: There will be 4 summer tournaments, then we will break for fall rec ball August through October. We will then get back together on Nov 1 st and compete in 2-3 fall tournaments (Battle in Rocky Top will be one of the fall tournaments).

Q: When and where are games played? How long does the summer season last?

A: We will play in 4 summer tournaments:

Q: What is the cost to register for 2026 season, and what does it include?

A: The cost to register for the 2026 season is $500. This will include sped-flex helmet, pads, uniform package, access to all summer AND fall tournaments, insurance.

Q: Do I need my own equipment?

A: No, see above. We do encourage players to have their own shoulder pads, but we can assist there if needed. Your player will also need to provide their own mouthpiece, cleats, and practice jersey.

Q: As a parent, how can I contribute?

A: Parents will be asked to assist with the transportation of the player, game day tasks such as chains for gameplay or team snacks if requested, help with fundraising, and lots of excitement and positive encouragement to the players. Q: How can I become a Smokies Football Coach? What is required to coach or volunteer?

All coaches and volunteers, regardless of position, are required to pass a background check. This is required of all volunteers that provide regular service and/or have repetitive access to youth participants.
